Get the Morticia Addams look

Halloween is just around the corner, there's literally 2 days. It can be pretty stressful if you still don't know what to go as or if you can't afford to go all out. I just decided that I wanted to dress up as Morticia Addams for Halloween. This is a super easy and cheap look. To help you, make sure you search for a picture of Morticia.  If you want to dress up, but still want to look half-decent; then this is the look for you.

What you will need for this look is;
  • Foundation-Your normal one will be perfect, it doesn't really matter what foundation you use. You just need something to make the powder stay and to just give you a little extra coverage.
  • Grey/Silver eyeshadow- Check all of your eyeshadow palettes to see if you have any of this. If you don't, then go to a drug store and you will be able to pick one up quite cheap.
  • Black eyeshadow-Again, check your eyeshadow palettes, if you don't have any then you get get one from a drug store.
  • White powder/eyeshadow- Look in claires or any drugstores for this. You need something to make you pale, but white facepaint will be too much. White powder will be ideal, but if you can't find any then white eyeshadow will be fine.
  • Mascara/false eyelashes- You need to make your eyelashes look as long and bold as you can. Both will work fine.
  • Red lipstick- If you don't have any red lipstick then go to a drug store, you can get one cheap too.
  • Eyeliner- A liquid one will be more ideal, but if you only have pencil you can make it work.
  • Brushes- You will need an eyeshadow brush, powder brush, a slanted contour style brush and a small slanted brush usually used for eyebrows.
These are the products that I used. The eye shadow palette is 'Run Boy Run' by Revolution, the lipstick and eye primer is also Revolution, the white powder is from Claires and the white eyeshadow is MUA and so is the eyeliner , the foundation is Collection and so is the mascara, .

Step 1- You need to apply your foundation as normal. Put as many layers on as you want, but it's not that important as the white powder will cover up.

Step 2- Apply your white powder. You will need to use as much as you can for this. Keep applying until you look pale, it will be easier for some people than others.

Step 3- You will need to get the black eye shadow and the big slanted brush (contour brush). Apply some to your cheekbones and around your hairline. Not everyone can have such perfect cheekbones as Morticia so black eye shadow will do the trick. After you've applied this make sure that you blend it in, so it doesn't stand out badly. Use your powder brush if you have to. With the black eye shadow you also want to fill in your eyebrows, if you have black eyeliner or a black eyebrow pencil then great.

Step 4- Apply the grey/silver eye shadow around the crease of your eyelids and towards the corners. You don't want to apply it to all of your eyelids. But if you find it tricky not to then do so, it will still look good. You want to apply it as high as you can, as Morticia has her eye shadow like that. If you have a darker grey eye shadow then apply it to the edge of your eye, where you applied the lighter colour. If you only have one grey then apply it more, or faintly use the black eye shadow. Make sure you blend after it's used.
This is the Run Boy Run palette and I used the red circled one first, then applied the blue circled one to the edge.

Step 6- Apply your eyeliner. You don't want to create a thick line, do it quite thin but noticeable. Also, add a little wing to the end.

Step 7- Apply your mascara or fake eyelashes. Try not to let it go clumpy if you're using mascara.

Step 8- Apply your red lipstick. If you have a darker red lip liner then use that to line your lips. If you don't then it's fine, you will still have the Morticia Addams look.

Ta-da! You now have the look. To top it off just wear all black. Remember to wash your brushes after.

Have a lovely Halloween and appreciate the spookiness!
