What's going on?

Image
Starting the New Year something is going to be changing with my blog. First of all I'm going to be posting more frequently,as you guys may know.I suck at that!  In fact,I'm going to be posting two times a week now. On Wednesday's I'm going to be posting a chapter of a story that I've written or a short story. I decided that this will help me so much with my creative writing course and I just want people to read my work. On Friday's I will be posting a normal blog post like make up looks, reviews, all the normal content! I'm not going to lie,I'm quite scared to be showing people my writing as it's such a big deal(for me anyway). But I'm so excited for the new year and how my blog is going to turn out!  Seeing as it's just been Christmas I got so many new things and it has inspired so many of my upcoming blogs. So there is going to be a new candle blog, new looks, new reviews of books and products, look books, DIY things, and everything! Last but not

Things to do in the new year

There's only a couple more weeks until the new year begins, and you know exactly what everyone is going to be wanting to do-make a difference in their life. So I thought that I would give a few ideas as to what to do. Get a diary. Note down all your friends and families birthdays, any important dates, days out, everything! It will keep your week much more organised and you won't forget anything (hopefully). Write a journal. You don't have to do tia everyday, but it's handy for the days where you're feeling a bit down.If you write down everything, or even when you're happy it will be an easy reminder. It will be a great way to remind yourself of how far you have come throughout the year. Write down your favourite quotes.Buy a pretty notebook and write down any quotes you find that you just love. I always find that when I'm sad if I look at quotes I like it will calm me down. Read a book. Reading books broadens your mind and it's surprisingly relaxing. Buy a ne

Day 11:My Waxing experience

Image
As you do,I decided to wax my upper lip.I mean, obviously I don't want hair there. As I was waxing the wax strip ripped off a part of my skin.At first it was weeping but I was like oh no. When I woke up it had scabbed over and I look like I have a disease!  I don't know if you can see in the picture above but I have a nasty mark and it feels horrid! All I can say is be very careful when waxing your upper lip!

Day 10:Best Places to get gifts

Since it's coming up to Christmas and a lot of people are struggling to find gifts I thought I would give a list of places where you can get great gifts. 1:Superdrug,this is a great place for all make up lovers as they do so many sets! They are at great prices too. 2:Argos:This is a great place for people who don't like the typical things. If they like gadgets and things like that then Argos is the place to go. 3:B&M:This place literally has everything! From gift sets to food to home things to gadgets! It's the best place to go for me. Plus the prices are great!  4:The Works: This is mainly for people who like books as they have the 3 for £5 deal and have sets for great prices. 5:Amazon:I know this isn't really a store but it has pretty much everything on there! 6:HMV:This is a great place for people who love DVD's,Box Sets,CD's and every books. They also have more little things like badges and keyrings.

Day 9-Mini shopping trip!

Image
I apologise for my terrible photography, whoops! Yesterday I went into town with a friend and picked up a few little bits!  I picked up two I Love body lotions, which smell incredible!I got the scents Raspberry and Blackberry, and Strawberry and cream. I honestly love this brand so much and it makes your skin feel and smell beautiful!  Blusher- I got MUA in shade candy floss and it's soo gorgeous! It doesn't make my cheeks look too pink but it looks pink enough.I have fallen in love with it!  Lip lacquer-I got a revolution lip lacquer for £3 and I love it( once it's dried which can take a while). It stays on for quite a while and I will definitely go back and buy all of the other shades! Rimmel lipstick-I for shade 30 in the Kate Moss range and I'm so happy with it.It suits my skin tone very well and it's a nice berry colour. I would definitely recommend!  Notebook- I got a pack of two little pink NU notebooks which are amazing. The paper quality is surprisingly good an

Day 8-Winter essentials

Image
Obviously,it is now winter which is either a good thing or a bad thing.I decided that I will give a little guide as to what I think you need for winter. Firstly,I'm going to talk about Cuppa Soup. There's nothing I love more than to sit there with a cuppa soup and some bread or something.I think it makes a great snack and it's lovely and hot (duuuh!). Fuzzy socks-I went into Peacocks and bought some more yesterday as they're just a need! They're sooo comfortable and they keep your feet lovely and warm. They usually have cute little patterned fuzzy socks too which is even better!  Lip balm-Sadly when the weather starts to get cold your lips start to chap which is incredibly annoying! I prefer to use tinned ones like Vaseline or something like that as it's easy to apply. Body lotion/moisturiser-Obviously people looove to use this all year round but at winter you need to use it more. I find that your skin becomes more dry and there's nothing better than putting o

Day 7-Christmas24

In case you didn't know there's a channel that constantly shows Christmas movies. Don't get too excited. They're not very good. Now I love Christmas movies, don't get me wrong. But when every movie is basically the same storyline that's when my hatred begins. I was sat watching movies all day with my Dad the other day and I noticed that every movie has the storyline of someone not liking Christmas, the other person does and then at the end the 'Scrooge' likes Christmas and then they fall in love. Sorry, spoiler alert! The thing is aswel, they don't seem like Christmas movies either.Just crappy romance movies, which is a complete bore!  Like I don't care if they fall in love.Show me Santa and his elves and all that cool exciting stuff! Show me The Grinch,The Elf,all the good Christmas movies!  What a complete disappointment!

Day 5-Nothing But Trouble review

Image
As I mentioned in the I Am Malala review,Maximum Pop do loads of giveaway's.Luckily for me,I won another book! (And another, but I'll get to that at a later time). And the book I won is Nothing But Trouble by Matt Cain!  For me,this book wasn't fully appealing to me. When I first started reading it I thought 'ok this seems alright' and it is an alright book. The characters are so realistic and everytime I read more about the character Lola I picture Madonna. I don't know why. It shows the brutal honesty of how whenever we meet someone we see their flaws before the good parts about them. So that beats the cliche of love at first sight and all that crap. But as I carried on reading it became more of a romance story and romance stories bore me. Like sure there is some good romance books out there, but it takes me time to read them.  I actually haven't finished this book because I got round about 100 pages into it and thought 'nah'.I'd rather read more

Day 4-Fav Netflix series

Image
Since it's now Winter and all you really want to do is cuddle up on the sofa with a hot drink, snacks and watch TV (or read a book). I thought that I would share my favourite Netflix series aswel as a couple that aren't actually on Netflix. Pretty Little Liars! This is most probably my favourite TV series. Every episode is filled with intense action and it's all about 'A' and their torturous actions towards 4 teenage girls. If you have never seen it then definitely watch it! The Vampire Diaries! This show is bloody amazing! Not to mention there is a few hotties in the show aka Damon and Stefan. There is so many storylines and they don't waste time to start the new storyline. It's honestly incredible! American Horror Story! If you love all creepy shows just like me then you will love this show. Each season is differed and has a completely different storyline. Apparently they're linked somehow but I haven't figured it out yet. For me Murder House was the

Day 3:My favourite 'Christmas' food

On the third day of Advent I give to you my favourite food at Christmas. Most of these you can eat all year around but if I don't have these at Christmas it doesn't seem right.  1-Ferrero Rocher! These nutty, chocolatey treats are what Christmas is all about. They're just delicious! Every Christmas for as long as I can remember my Mum has always bought these. And we're never allowed to eat many of them until Christmas day, when we sit down and watch a movie in the evening whilst eating them. I know that I will most probably carry on this little tradition when I'm older and have a family of my own. It's always exciting when you try and sneak a piece of food that you're not actually allowed. I personally love these a lot and will not eat any until Christmas season. Obviously,if you have a nut allergy then don't go buying or eating any!  2-Celebrations,Roses or Heroes! I don't think that you can actually buy these any other time of the year,I may be wrong

Day 2-I Am Malala review

Image
On the second day of Advent I give to you a review of a phenomenal book that I have recently read.   I entered a competition to win this book not knowing what Malala's story was or anything about it. That's the excitement about new books-right? Luckily for me, I won the competition and I didn't even know until it turned up at my house. It took my two days to read this and it gave me the inspiration that I needed. Just a little bit about how I won this book. Maximum Pop have a Twitter account for books ( @MaximumPopBooks) and they regularly do competitions, free chapters, authors take over the account etc. For book lovers or people who have an interest in writing stories, it is a great way to do it.  I Am Malala tells you the story of a young girl who lives in Pakistan and her life is fine. She has education and her safety. But the Taliban arise informing everyone that education for girls is wrong. They bomb a bunch of girls schools and Malala fears that it wil be

Day 1-October and November favs!

Image
On the first day of advent, I give to you my October and November favourites. Firstly, I would like to apologise for my lack of posting. I will be posting much more I promise! I  thought that I would combine my October and November favourites and post it. But there's one problem-there's not much. So here goes!   First of all I'll talk about the eyelashes. I've recently started using eyelashes and I've used some random pair from a little shop in my town (I have no idea what they're called) and they didn't last very long, so I picked up a pair from Primark and I think they were the intense ones. I would have included a picture of them but I threw away the packaging. But oh well, they are an amazing pair of lashes, they apply very well, the glue is huge and works well and they're beautiful. Not to mention the price (£1,that can go straight in my basket!). Would definitely recommend the Primark lashes. Then I went into Savers and saw the Tanya Bu

Get the Morticia Addams look

Image
Halloween is just around the corner, there's literally 2 days. It can be pretty stressful if you still don't know what to go as or if you can't afford to go all out. I just decided that I wanted to dress up as Morticia Addams for Halloween. This is a super easy and cheap look. To help you, make sure you search for a picture of Morticia.  If you want to dress up, but still want to look half-decent; then this is the look for you. What you will need for this look is; Foundation-Your normal one will be perfect, it doesn't really matter what foundation you use. You just need something to make the powder stay and to just give you a little extra coverage. Grey/Silver eyeshadow- Check all of your eyeshadow palettes to see if you have any of this. If you don't, then go to a drug store and you will be able to pick one up quite cheap. Black eyeshadow-Again, check your eyeshadow palettes, if you don't have any then you get get one from a drug store. White powder/e

Top 5 candle scents

Who doesn't love the smell of burning, scented wax? Now I know I've phrased that in a weird way, but lets be honest. Everyone loves candles. They look nice and smell nice; it's a win-win situation. The only problem with candles is that one person may love a specific scent whilst another may hate it. So just a piece of advice, unless you know that person likes that scent or you know them well enough to know what scents they like. Steer clear from buying them as presents. However, I'm pretty sure everyone I've bought candles for have loved them. And I've never heard anyone moan about a scent that someone has bought them. So just buy it, go for it. Candles look beautiful anywhere. I personally like to have mine on my bedside table or on my desk. I think that it's a great place to put them. Just a piece of advice-be careful. Make sure that you won't knock them over, or that the flame won't catch onto something. The last thing you want is to set somethin

My autumn make up look

Image
It became Autumn like a month ago and I realised that I never actually told you what my look is. The days are getting colder and everyone's make up seems to be getting darker and it's actually great. So first off I will start with my go-to nail polish. I don't have very long nails but I think that this colour works very well. It will go well with whatever length your nails are. This nail polish is by the brand NYC in the shade Upper East Side (yes I know there's no labels on it, and I have no idea what happened to them). When on, the colour does change a little bit. It looks more grey. But it's a very beautiful nude shade, and I love grey shades. It dries very quickly too, which is really helpful. Especially if you're as clumsy as me. It also lasts a long time, and doesn't require a lot of coats. Next is eyeshadow. Now I honestly have no idea where I bought this palette from, I just saw it in a random shop and had to buy it. I believe it was around £

Songs I'm loving

If you're like me then you will love music, and a lot of different genres of music. So I'm going to tell you about some songs that I'm loving right now and about the lyrics. 1) PVRIS- St Patrick. Now I love PVRIS, Lynn has such a beautiful voice and Alex and Brian are just immense.  Basically this song is about loving someone so much, you're mentally attached to them. Obsessed in a way.  You're blinded by what they really are because you love them so much. I think that it's such an accurate interpretation of what love is. 2)Little Mix-Love Me Like You. I listened to this song so much, it's embarrassing actually. All of their voices are so beautiful and it has an oldish vibe to it. It's definitely not like most music these days. 3)Nothing But Thieves-Wake Up Call. This song is rather catchy, and the riff is incredible. However, I am a bit biased because I love Nothing But Thieves. Just listen to it. 4)Drake-Hotline Bling. I'm guessing this son

September favourites

September is such a frustrating month; you start school, the weather is constantly changing temperature, you never know what to wear, etcetera etcetera. Surely there is a way to make the painful month a little less painful. Sadly, I have not found that yet. My favourites for this month range from candles, lipsticks, eye shadows, shower gels and even books. Just to clarify, most of my favourites will consist of these style products or a similar range. Lets get started. My first favourite for this month is the 'Palmolive Feel Glamorous shower scrub' in the scent blackberry, bourbon vanilla and dragon fruit. I'm a big fan of fruity scents, especially berry scents. It's a very strong scented shower gel/scrub, but not so strong that you don't want to use it. It has little beads that you actually can't see, but the scrub leaves your skin feeling very refreshed and smooth. The packaging of this product is petit and handy and it is 250 ml. I would definitely recomme

Zoella Kissy Missy review

It's now Autumn which means it's the time of the year where your lips need extra care. There are so many lip products out there and I'm pretty sure everyone has lip balm. But seeing as our favourite youtuber/blogger has released a lip balm in her tutti frutti range,I thought I would review it. Firstly, the price of it is rather controversial. Considering it is just a lip balm it's a little bit pricey when you can get a lip balm for £1.But it's the same price as baby lips which pretty much everybody has,so it's not that pricey. I think that the pricing is very good, due to the fact that most beauty products by youtubers or celebrities are a little on the expensive side. This product also makes a good present, you can either buy it randomly for someone or buy it as well as something else. It is a product that everyone will love. Now the colour of this lip balm is a little different, most of them are clear but is one is bright pink. Depending on how much you pu

Skin care

Caring for your skin is something that a lot of people struggle with, even me. But you can't always have perfect skin, you will always have break outs. You just need to know how to control it. There are so many skin care products out there to try and some will work, some won't. I will be telling you the products that I use at the moment, but I will be trying out new products and be sharing my experiences with them. First of all I'm going to talk about facial wipes. I use these to take off my make up before using my products. So essentially, anything will work. You can get facial wipes from anywhere; drugstores, supermarkets, etc. They are super cheap too. You don't have to use Simple ones or any other top brands, the cheap ones work just as well. I'm not going to tell you not to get the top brand facial wipes, get whatever works for you. I use a facial wipe once I'm ready to take all of my make up off, and before I put my make up on, just to refresh my face. F
